Polygon Launch Update

Hi everyone,

With the assistance of the Polygon team, we tested multiple Polygon RPCs today and we have found one which is working good enough that we are willing to allow people to start playing again.

Games will begin 3rd March midday UTC.

We will gather community feedback over the next few days to see if the network is suitable or if we need to execute plan B — which may be to launch on Gnosis Chain (formerly xDai). We are also keen to explore other options provided by the community including Fusion.

Here are a few issues we have observed which may not be able to be solved by our game.

1. About a third of all transactions required speeding up, as the transaction is not confirmed in a timely manner (for a game).
2. There can be a delay between 5 to 20 seconds between the game registering an action (i.e. tank moving) and MetaMask “confirming” the transaction. If you attempt another action prior to MetaMask’s confirmation — you may be alerted by MetaMask that there is still a pending transaction.
3. Despite an action being processed in the blockchain — an attempt at another action may fail as the RPC believes the previous move has not yet occurred.
